Steve Landeene, Executive Director of Spaceport America, was our guest to discuss Spaceport America and our civil and commercial space policy and spaceports in general. We started our first segment with a general overview of Spaceport America in New Mexico and its primary tenant, Virgin Galactic. Steve brought us current with the construction activities underway at the spaceport, including the 10,000 by 200 foot runway which should be completed around June 2010.

Guest: Eva-Jane Lark was the guest host for this special Space Show and I was the guest that Ms. Lark interviewed. Eva-Jane started out asking me about my initial interest in space. Listen to what I said about my interest starting at a very early age. Eva-Jane did a stellar job in drawing me out in detailed responses to very good questions on many subjects ranging from business planning and development issues, to some personal issues and financial issues regarding The Space Show, and my goals and objectives with The Space Show.

(Coyote) Smith, USAF, regarding the business case potential and the need for developing space solar power. During this interview, not only do we discuss business case facts, but energy policy, the capability of the private sector to develop a demo project, other nations and their work toward SSP as well as their capability to do the project.

Guests: Dr. Charles Lundquist, 1st hour; Dr. David Livingston, 2nd hour. Dr. Charles Lundquist was the guest for the first hour of this Space Show program. He was one of the original team members who launched Explorer 1, America's first satellite in space, on Jan. 31, 1958. Listen to Dr. Lundquist tell the story of Explorer 1, his work with the Von Braun team, the Army Ballistic Missile Center at the Redstone Arsenal and much more. The panel discussed numerous aspects of what is required to develop and build a rocket launching company using "The Rocket Company" book as the discussion basis. The panel discussed rocket engineering, business planning, single stage to orbit mass and economics, the existing alt.space launch industry along with the established launch industry. We discussed financing, markets, and much more.
