Guests: Charles Pooley and Iain Finer. Topic 2009 Space Access Society Conference, rockets, suborbital and orbital flight, space tourism. This program consists of three separate reporting segments from Charles and Iain who were at Space Access in Phoenix, AZ . They kindly phoned in three reports to The Space Show. Charles and Iain talked about the speakers and comments, mostly from what caught their attention and interest, but also from an overall perspective of the conference this year.

Guest: Dr. Paul Dear. Topics: N-Prize, RACOON/BALLOON LAUNCH, orbital satellite, AST, ITAR. Dr. Paul Dear returned to The Space Show to update us about new developments with the N-Prize (see http://www.n-prize.com for more details). We also went over the rules and several distinctions were made as well as clarifications pertaining to what is and is not an N-prize expense. Several N-prize team members called the show to discuss their entries as well as how they are complying with federal regulations pertaining to launching an orbital rocket.

Guest: Henry Vanderbilt followed by Open Lines. Topics: Space Access Society Conference, low cost space access, SUSTAIN, suborbital and orbital space transportation. Henry Vanderbilt, founder of The Space Access Conference, was the guest for the first ninety minutes of today's program followed by Open Lines for the last half hour. Henry discussed the origins of The Space Access Conference up to its current status. He told us who the speakers were to-date for this year's conference and said there was still time to contact him to be a presenter at the conference.

Guest: Rosanna Sattler, Atty. Topics: spaceflight participants, informed consent, liability issues, assumption of risk. Rosanna Sattler returned for this Space Show program to discuss spaceflight liability for companies and spaceflight participants. Our discussion started out with an understanding of the various terrestrial liability, tort, and other laws in place that will likely apply to commercial spaceflight.

Guest: Dr. David Livingston with Open Lines. Topics: Civil space, NASA, Big Bang, favorite Space Show programs, student programs, affordable space access, Obama space policy. All topics were welcome on this Open Lines Space Show program. We had a mix of callers and email/chat questions on a variety of topics including how to establish civil space, space tourism, affordable space access, Obama's probable space policy, and the challenge of landing large payloads on Mars.

Guest: David Hook was our guest for this Space Show program bringing us up to speed on the TSA's proposed rule changes for aircraft weighing in excess of 12,500 lbs. David's company, Planehook Aviation Services, LLC, has created eight videos on YouTube for people to see and learn how to respond to the TSA prior to the close of the comment period. Guest: Paul Breed of Unreasonable Rockets was the guest for this Space Show program. Please visit his blog http://unreasonablerocket.blogspot.com/ for more information. We started our discussion with Paul talking about the history of Unreasonable Rocket as to how he started it, how he got his son interested in working with him building rockets, and even why he named the company as he did. We also talked about his efforts to compete in the Lunar Lander Challenge over the years up to the current year and why he did not enter this year.

Guests: David Faulkner, Paul Metz, Dr. George Law, and Ed Linhart of Rocketplane Global, Inc., were the guests on this Space Show program. We began our discussion with Dave Faulkner updating us on Rocketplane Global and what has transpired since Dave was last on the show. After a short update, Dave brought each of our guests on air discussing different aspects of the new, revised Rocketplane.

Guests: Will Pomerantz, Todd Squires, Scott Zeeb, and Neil Milburn were the guests for this show which focused on the 2008 NASA Centennial Challenge Northrop Grumman Lunar Lander Challenge with $2 million in prize money to be won. We started the discussion with Will telling us about the Challenge, the rules, how the prize money is divided up, and how members of the public can follow this year's program as Holloman AFB will not be open to the general public.

Guest: David Hook. David Hook was the guest for this special program in order to discuss the unusual topic of security regulations for space tourism. As President of his company, Planehook Aviation Services in San Antonio, Texas, David specializes in security work for general aviation, but he has quietly expanded this interest to space tourism. During the first segment of the program, David referenced the FAA/AST regulations dealing with security issues and told us what they mean and how they are likely to be interpreted and applied.
