We welcomed John Garvey, CEO of Garvey Spacecraft Corporation back to the program. We welcomed Tim Pickens back to the program for the first time since he sold his company, Orion Propulsion, to Dynetics, Inc. This Space Show program consists of three interviews back to back separated by about ten plus seconds of silence. Josh Hopkins was interviewed on Tuesday, August 31, Larry Price was interviewed on Wednesday, Sept. 1, and Steve Harrington was interviewed on Thursday, Sept. 2. As you will hear, the Harrington interview was a change of pace and topic discussion from the first two interviews.

This was a two hour plus OPEN LINES program with almost non stop listener telephone calls in addition to email and chat. We started our fist segment with a phone call from Bob Zimmerman. Bob did a 15 minute or so rant on Obama space, the April 15 space conference at the Cape and more so don't miss this energetic start for this program.

In our first segment, Peter discussed the NASA Centennial Challenge program and introduced us to his astronaut glove which has won two competitive Centennial Challenge competitions.

Guest: Kris Kimel. Topics: Kentucky Space innovative space programs. Kris Kimel returned to update Space Show listeners on new Kentucky Space programs and projects. For more information, visit www.kentuckyspace.com. In our first segment, Mr. Kimel told us about the Kentucky Space cubesat program with Professor Bob Twiggs. We also learned about the approaching suborbital launch on Feb. 24 and the upcoming Glory Mission with a Kentucky Space satellite launch to orbit out of Vandenberg later this year.

Guest: Paul Lithgow. Topics: aerospace engineering, micro & nanosatellite technology, Comtech AeroAstro opportunities. The Space Show sat down with Comtech AeroAstro President Paul Lithgow at the recent SmallSat Conference at Utah State University in Logan, Utah for this interview. We were joined by Space Show friend and One Giant Leap Foundation Board Member, Dr. John Jurist. I first learned of Comtech AeroAstro at the most recent Responsive Space Conference and arranged to meet Mr. Lithgow during SmallSat and talk small satellite and space security business with him.

Dr. Mueller returned for this Space Show program to update us on the recent intercollegiate rocket engineering competition for the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association (ESRA) recently held in Utah. With him on the show were the first and second place team captains, Adam Vore from Cal State Long Beach and David Stechmann from the University of Washington.

Guest: Brian Shiro. Topics: Brian's "Space Studies Showdown: ISU vs. UND," space engineering studies, MBA space program, PhD space program, accreditation, scholarships, and financial aid. Brian Shiro was our guest on this special Space Show program to present his comparison of the two multidiscipline Space Studies programs based on his experiences at ISU in Strasbourg, France and UND SpSt in Grand Forks, ND. Brian is currently a distance student in the UND Space Studies program and he is a graduate of the ISU Summer Program when it was in Vancouver, Canada.

Guest: Lt. Col. Carol Welsch, USAF, returned for this special Space Show program. We started our discussion on the subject of last year's Chinese ASAT test as this subject was the focus of Col. Welsch's thesis at the US Air Force War College at Maxwell AFB, AL. As soon as her thesis is published, she will let me know and I will announce it on the show. During this program, we discussed some of the Colonel's findings and conclusions regarding intent, the scope of the Chinese ASAT program, plus many other factors.
