Guest: Jim Muncy. Topics: Administration's space policy proposal, commercial space. Jim Muncy was our guest for this 90 minute program without a break to discuss the Administration's new space policy proposal. Jim started the discussion saying that the Space Frontier Foundation (SFF) strongly supported the administration policy and that he wanted to help explain the program to us. He said the plan was for opening the space frontier as opposed to the continuation of a centrally planned government directed program.

Guest: Walt Anderson. Topics: Augustine Commission, Walt's future plans, legal updates, Mir Space Station and MirCorp. Walt Anderson returned to The Space Show for a series of four fifteen minute telephone interviews from his federal correctional facility in New Jersey. These interviews took place on August 19 and October 2, 2009. During these telephone conversations, Walt updated us on his legal status and the dropping of most of the charges against him by the IRS.

Guest: Rick Tumlinson. Topics: Space frontier development, private/public partnerships, Augustine Commission. Rick Tumlinson returned for this special two hour Space Show program. Each segment was one hour but an overriding theme went through the entire show. This theme was the need to develop the space frontier and that the private sector could do it, that the government civil space program should address space exploration from LEO and beyond, but Earth to Leo should be turned over to the private sector companies. As Rick said, NASA should buy the ride, not the rocket.

Maria Catalina was our guest for this Space Show program to discuss The Astronaut Teacher Alliance (TATA), Teachers in Space, and some of the exciting projects TATA is developing with teachers, and students of Chile near the Atacama Desert. This is the program to listen to if you want to know how to reach students, inspire and motivate them, and even get them to respect their teachers, and actually pay attention.

Our guests, James Pura and Ryan McLinko are the co-chairs of the upcoming NewSpace 2009 conference to be held July 17-20 at NASA Ames in Mountain View, Ca. Bob Werb was our guest on The Space Show today for a frank discussion and at times, a very cool Economics 101 lecture on the economics of space development. Do not miss this show and Bob's last segment 5 minute economics course for space cadets. Some of the issues we talked about from an economic perspective included ITAR reform, space entrepreneurism, military, civil, and NewSpace. We also discussed space security in the context of Bob's Econ 101 lesson.

Guest: Greg Zsidisin was the guest for this Space Show program. We began our discussion with Greg about the type of space policy to expect from the new Obama administration. We focused in on the space policy transition team as Greg was asked to give us insights into their thinking and space interests. He concluded that space policy would likely unfold more or less traditionally rather than anything out of the box.

Will went over the agenda with us as several speakers and events have now been finalized for this event.
