John Batchelor and I welcomed Dr. Erika Nesvold to Hotel Mars. Dr. Nesvold is the author of the new book, "Off-Earth" which focuses on ethical concerns for space settlement. For both H-M segments, Erika talked about ethical concerns for space settlement, concerns about the PRC getting to the Moon before us or other western cultural systems given that space should be for everyone. She specifically expressed concern about the Moon, ethical conduct on the Moon, the lunar S. Pole and more. Erika also presented her new book on the program, "0ff-Earth" which has been featured on a recent Space Show program. Later in the segment she was asked about the role of the Space Force but she did not see that being applicable at this time to settlement. Our guest explained in some detail why her preferred choice was to use settlement and not colonization. Before ending the second segment, we talked about life support issues, pregnancy, childbirth and having children in space, in particular from an ethical perspective.
