Feedback: What did you think of this show?:
Former astronaut, author, and retired USAF Colonel William Pogue was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. Col. Pogue described is his experiences in space, on spacewalks, and all associated processes in quite some detail. We also discussed his book, Space Trivia, how he did the research for the 800 plus questions in the book and he he found the answers to what are certainly some challenging and thought provoking questions. Col. Pogue also discussed his earlier book, "How to Go to the Bathroom in Space." We also talked about the likelihood of general population people being in space, doing spacewalks, and related activities. Col. Pogue discussed the new space policy program that President Bush recently introduced and he explained why the program and space development is so important for us all. Col. Pogue is also participating in the proposal writing for the Crew Exploration Vehicle and we discussed this process as well as the vehicle. I asked him several questions about the private sector making vehicles and he is supportive of the private sector, the X-Prize, and efforts to become space-faring and for us all to have space access and experience, not just an elite few such as the astronauts. We also compared Skylab to the ISS given his experiences on Skylab. Col. Pogue has much to say about space and the role of humans in space and what our manned space future should be. Listen to this program as this is one person who can certainly explain and inform and motivate us all all.
