Feedback: What did you think of this show?:
Gene Meyers, Founder and CEO of The Space Island Group, Inc., returned to The Space Show for this program. Gene outlined in some detail new developments for The Space Island Group, mostly coming about in the wake of the Columbia accident. From what Mr. Meyers tells Space Show listeners on this program, major openings for The Space Island business plan for getting the private sector to space have now occurred. Mr. Meyers tells us about these openings post Columbia, the letters he has now received from large aerospace companies, and much more. He also is well underway with his plans to seek large company sponsorship and endorsement for in orbit sports facilities and more. His financial plan is modeled after shopping center leases and development here on Earth, in that leases with major tenants are bankable assets available to fund the development of the project. Mr. Meyers is moving The Space Island Group in this direction. He has also created school programs with contests and posters, all of which will be very exciting as it comes to fruition. Gene Meyers and The Space Island Group, Inc. are certainly moving forward to realizing space commerce and access with a unique business model that stands to capture the attention of the financial institutions and large global corporations, just as does a successful shopping center development or commercial construction project. We will want to follow the progress being made by The Space Island Group closely and Gene will certainly be back on to update us as new developments take place. Mr. Meyers can be contacted through his website (and he invites your contact) at www.spaceislandgroup.com.
