During our 11 minute plus discussion, John and Dr. Robert Zubrin discussed manned missions to Mars with Russian participation. Unfortunately, I was unable to participate due to a lousy cell phone connection as I was at a friend's house for a party. During the segment, Dr. Zubrin made several important points given he had just returned from Russia. He said he found lots of people willing to do a joint Mars human mission with us but also many want to turn the clock back to Cold War days. He had much to say about Putin and why a manned Mars mission would go a long way toward neutralizing the dark forces within Russia, including Putin. Bob talked about advancing humanity and the investment in human capital as the return we would all benefit from in a human Mars mission. Dr. Zubrin's motivation for the joint Russian -US manned Mars mission seemed right on the target to me and those at the party listening to the segment on one of Batchelor's streaming internet stations.
