Feedback: What did you think of this show?:
Greg Klerkx, the author of the very informative and popular book "Lost in Space: The Fall of NASA and the Dream of a a New Space Age" spoke to Space Show listeners on this show about his research and findings regarding NASA and more, all of which are reported in his book. Greg begins his story with us by talking about his experiences while at SETI, the NASA perception of SETI and what he actually discovered about NASA while he was at SETI. Greg examines NASA very carefully and suggests what might be needed if NASA is going to implement the new Bush space policy, the VSE. He also talks about what will be needed by Congress, the general public, and the space advocate community for this new policy initiative to be successful. Mr. Klerkx talked about the space shuttle program and why he believes it should not be repaired or flown. His alternatives involve the private sector as well as the development of a replacement vehicle as soon as possible. We talk about aerospace industry conflicts of interest, lobbying, and more. Mr. Klerkx also shares his thoughts with us regarding the President's commission which is convening around the country to decide how best to implement the new VSE. Greg clearly makes the case for our presence and growth in space development and commerce, he states what the benefits are for the general public, and he offers suggestions for the advocate community as to how to do a better job in working with the government as well as the public to assure success with a revitalized space development program. This is an important program. Don't miss it. If you have questions or comments, please send them to me at drspace@thespaceshow.com.
