Welcome to our Open Lines program which was a 2 hour 3 minute discussion.  We started this Open Lines program with Robert Jacobson doing a commercial space industry review.  Robert spoke about the possibility of Sen. Nelson becoming the next NASA Administrator, SLS, Artemis, Nelson and NewSpace back when he was a senator and possible changes in his position today.  He mentioned the Bezos visit to Relativity Space plus Starlink seeking FCC authority to have their system in mobile platforms such as boats, planes, and trucks.  I asked him for his thoughts on Clubhouse but he said that was TBD.  Marshall Martin called to ask him about Falcon Heavy and other rocket motor gimbaling.  Robert talked about the possibility of Voyager Space Holdings doing an IPO later this year.  He mentioned this might be a possibility for Branson too.  I asked Robert about Los Angeles opening up for in person space conferences later this year or hybrid conferences. Robert, like me, did not see how that would happen but said it was a wait and see.  During Robert's call, he mentioned a new organization, Planetoid Mines Corporation (see www.planetoidmines.com).

Kim called to mention the new article posted on the likely origin of Oumuamua which might be a chunk of ice or something similar from an asteroid.  Kim posted the article on the blog.  Kim and I then mentioned the AIAA SF Bay Area chapter interview of me re The Space Show by both Kim and Fremont John.  This program will be the evening of April 1.  I will post registration information on our website as while it is free, one has to register to attend.  Before signing off, Kim talked about the importance of artificial gravity.

Fremont John called to tell us about a newly discovered comet, Comet Leonard.  He also posted information about it on our blog as well as his own excellent blog.  Check out his post on the blog for this show.  Listen to what he said about the comet, the possibility of seeing it given the possible brightness of the comet.  Visibility of the comet should be around Jan. 3, 2022.  In addition, John mentioned a webinar I sent him information about from Humanity in Deep Space regrading farming on Mars.  John had much to say about interplanetary agriculture to support humans off Earth.  He also posted info on this on both his blog and TSS blog for this program.  John brought up the Tao Zero program and their YouTube Channel.  Also, he mentioned a recent Harvard Business Review article on commercial space which he thought was very positive.

As an added discussion topic, I brought up the news regarding Tic Tac given the recent interview with the former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe.  Note that for the first time we heard the Air Force mentioned with the videos of the unidentified aerial vehicles.  He also said they had much more Navy and AF videos, that they cannot explain the performance characteristics of the unidentified vehicles and that he hoped that the information would be declassified b the senate as they are required to do by June.  Ft. Worth John posted the full interview on the blog.  The discussion with John led to classification and openness regarding academics, those form DOD and the entire peer review process.  Before he signed off, John mentioned the Muon Catalyzed Aneutronic Fusion Drive.  He posted information on this on our blog.

Dr. Doug called to talk about the previous comments by both Kim and Fremont John on an earlier show regarding artificial gravity and the gravity prescription for human spaceflight.  John had been talking about the best place for AG was on a free space platform.  Doug talked about AG focusing on three main issues, health, gestation, and clinical health.  He had much to say on these issues so don't miss this discussion which he related to many human factors space issues and challenges.  Doug talked about centrifuge possibilities and safety on a lunar base.

Before signing off a quick summary of today's program was offered.  If you want to contact any of our callers, please let me know.  Please post your comments/questions on TSS blog for this program.
