John Batchelor and I welcomed back Dr. Mark Brodwin to discuss the recent announcement regarding the confirmation of gravity waves using the LIGO observatories in Louisana and Washington. Dr. Brodwin explained the LIGO observatory experiment, gravity waves in general, coalescing black holes, and the significance of this confirmation for the astronomy field. He talked about this opening up an entirely new field that will enable observation of the high energy universe.
