John Batchelor and I welcomed back Doug Messier of Parabolic Arc to discuss the recent return of the Orion capsule and the successful Artemis 1 mission. SLS was discussed as were the future Artemis 4 and 5 mission. Orion and the landing were described in detail as was the reentry skip maneuver. Much more was said about SLS and Artemis, then we turned our attention to the status of Starship awaiting its launch license to begin test flights out of Boca. We talked about the Raptor engines, the testing phase, the first flight mission and profile, and heat shield issues for both SLS and Starship. NASA Artemis Return to the Moon plans were discussed in a timeline detail plus SpaceX with Starship and the DearMoon mission which we all agreed would likely be delayed.
