We welcomed Darrell Preston to the program to discuss his article for Bloomberg News, "Billionaire Musk Gets Brownsville to Pay for SpaceX." You can read the article at www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-02-12/states-competing-for-spacex-by-offerin.... Our discussion with Darrell as well as his article explains how Elon and SpaceX got Texas and Brownsville to compete with offers and benefits to get SpaceX to build a launch site near Brownsville. As you will both read and hear, Texas is competing hard for space businesses to come to the Lone Star State. Its an interesting story. In my opinion, "enlightened" states understand the benefits of going after commercial space companies for the future of their state. Please post any comments/questions you might have on The Space Show blog. You can contact any of us through drspace@thespaceshow.com.
