Welcome to our Open Lines discussion.  During the first segment of our 1 hour 54 minute program,  During the first segment, I made an announcement dedicating today's program to the memory of Dr. Molly Macauley who was murdered this past Friday night while out walking her dogs.  Molly had been a guest on the show a few times regarding space economic subjects, was a friend, and will be missed by all.

John from Ft. Worth was our first caller to talk about the subject of mass.  John got into some involved physics in his discussion in which he also talked about electrons, the Higgs particle and much more.  During John's comments, Dr. Doug from S. California sent him a note asking  if space-time is a four-dimensional coordinate system, why do we only have three semi-circular canals in our inner ear?  I got Doug on the other line and John and Doug continued the conversation for several minutes.  They got into aspects of time travel, the future, the past, and more.  Don't miss John's call and latter part of it with Doug on the phone.

Our next caller was space attorney Michael Listner.  He reported on he Orbital ATK litigation with US Space regarding the Vivisat matter.  At the end of his call, Michael updated us on the RD 180 issue which appears solved for now.

Before the break, John in Freemont called to talk about the molten salt reactor, nuclear energy and propulsion.  He posted an article of interest on the blog for today's show with Scott Lowther who will be talking about nuclear power.  The article John posted can be found at

In the second segment, Dr. Doug called to talk about recent discoveries and information regarding Ceres including the bright spot.  Doug then talked about ideas for lunar and Martian dust mitigation.  Toward the end of his comments, Doug talked about the upcoming NASA Ames Phobos-Deimos conference and going to the Moons of Mars.  He also mentioned telerobotics.

John from Ft. Worth called back to add some comments to the brief discussion we were having on the subject of water as a possible nuclear fuel.  Doug emailed John several questions on this topic which brought us to the end of our program.  Also in the second segment, I highlighted some upcoming shows with Dr. Jeff Bell and Dr. Robert Zubrin.

Please post your comments/questions in the comments section of TSS blog.  If you want to reach any of the callers, do so through me.
