Feedback: What did you think of this show?:

Robert (Rob) Godwin of CG Publishing, Inc. and Apogee Books was the guest on this edition of The Space Show. Mr. Godwin discussed his latest book, "Mars: The NASA Mission Reports, Vol. 2" as well as Volume 1. While discussing Volume 2, he talked about the special interview with Warner Von Braun, the double-sided DVD that comes with the book, the Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity, and much more. We also talked about the full line of space books published by Apogee Books as well as upcoming books, including one where the authors will soon be on The Space Show. The particular book mentioned, "New Moon Rising: The Making of America's new Space Vision" by Frank Sietzen Jr. and Keith Cowing addresses the timely issue of the Bush space policy initiative in the aftermath of the Columbia accident. Both authors will be on The Space Show July 13, 2004. Mr. Godwin explained how he became interested in writing and publishing space books, and he also talked about his earlier music career. During the program, we asked the listeners two trivia questions. Only one was answered. Those of you listening to this program on archives might want to see if you can answer either question without research. Mr. Godwin told about new books coming out by Apogee, including a book on space tourism by Space Show guest John Spencer, another by by former Space Show guest, Dennis Wingo, and a book with the intriguing title, "How NASA Learned To Fly!" Rob also shared his point of view of the issue of space in our presidential election as he is a citizen of the UK and lives in Canada. We also learned about the Canadian interest in the space program, the support of our new space policy initiative and for the Canadian Space Agency. Rob spoke about the X-Prize which finally has the potential to be won in the near future, most likely by Burt Rutan and Space Ship One in Mojave, CA. Apogee books is also considering these subjects for its line of space books.
