John Batchelor and I welcomed back Dr. Avi Loeb to both discuss his new book, "Interstellar: The Search for Extraterrestrial Life and Our Future in the Stars" and the early findings of his under water magnetic sled expedition off Papua New Guinea to look for pieces of the incoming Jan. 8, 2014 fast moving bolide that exploded in atmosphere with pieces falling within a 7 mile area known as their search area. Dr. Loeb reported on the material strength of the alloy pieces found, the unusual alloy ratio found in the retrieval spheres plus he talked about future expeditions and additional searching for fast moving interstellar objects with new space and ground based telescopes coming on line in the near future. He also said they have many more sphere to examine from their expedition. When asked if they now has best evidence for technology over natural rock formations, he said they had indications but needed much more information and data to make that conclusion despite it looking that way based on their research so far.
