This is the first of The Space Show Deep Space Message submissions. This message was composed by me and transmitted to Deep Space in Dec. 2005. The text of the message is: Greetings from The Space Show. The Space Show is an Earth-based radio talk show striving to move our Earthly humanity to a full space-faring status with a comprehensive space-faring economy. Many of us here on Earth understand our connection to outer-space and the importance to all of us across our planet to achieving space-faring status. We all benefit. Yet, it remains a challenge to us, is costly, its complex, and not everyone understands or appreciates this view or the necessity in becoming space-faring. To help facilitate the interest in space and move us closer to becoming space-faring, The Space Show has commenced its Deep Space Communication Project wherein each month Space Show listeners will send a message in text and voice to deep space to hopefully reach other intelligences. Earth people are a diverse people, sometimes more in opposition than in harmony. We are curious, we have questions, we have a thirst for knowlege and we push the envelope for success and advancement in our lives, the lives of our family members, and in our society. As you listen to our monthly messages beamed in your direction, I believe you will spot some themes, you will detect our impatience to get into space, our great sense of humor including our ability to laugh at ourselves, our frustration with the high space access costs, our expensive rockets, the politics, and the other barriers that slow us down in our efforts to be fully space-faring. You will also hear from many of us how we want to go to space, to live in space in settlements on our Moon and on Mars. However we are ready to go now despite not knowing full the risks, the complications, and the long term impact on us, our families, and those of us staying behind on Earth. We are drawn to space, we thirst for it, and we know its is the path that will enable humanity to be at its best, not just with one another, but with whatever lies beyond our reach, knowlege, understanding, and senses. The Space Show and its listening family share the goals of exploring other worlds and seeking other life. So do millions of people living all over the Earth. As you listen to Space Show messages coming your way each month, starting with this message, get to know us. It is our hope that soon we will be knocking on the door to deliver messages such as this one in person. And by the way, if you know how to get out of a strong gravity well like we have on Earth at very low cost or with technology other than chemical rockets, please share it with us.
