
Rob Lowe - graduated in computing in 1983 and soon became recognized within the IT industry for his all-round knowledge and strategic vision. Rob has been instrumental in the merger and acquisition process of major global organizations, and been at the helm of some of the most innovative technological companies including Vodafone, Motorola and Psion. At Psion Rob was Program Director responsible for the development of the first Smart Phone called the Odin Smartphone. Within aerospace, Rob was responsible for British Midland Airways/BMI Baby's Safety, Compliance, Engineering and Technology for two years over the millennium period; a major responsibility within a large organization which required focus and thorough due diligence during a an extremely trying time. Rob has also spearheaded a number of major government technology improvements, where he was ultimately responsible for the delivery of all Projects and Programs of work as a member of the board. Rob has also worked on government communications protocols and at a company where the first Internet search engine, called ALIWEB, was developed. Rob was responsible for the development and support of the communications infrastructure for NASA and the Space Shuttle using secure military standard messaging solutions. In 1997 Rob was part of a 25-strong team who broke the UK Altitude record for a privately sponsored rocket. Rob's views on many subjects, his innovative approach to life and original personality were recognized not only by technological organizations, but also by the Eccentric Club. In a fair annual contest in 2009, Rob was awarded with a title, Great British Eccentric of the Year", and again in 2012 for his philosophical and technological publication called, "The Eccentric Universe". Rob has an affection for groundbreaking technology, a fascination with technological innovation, quantum physics and astronomy, coupled with wanting to improve the world technologically and environmentally, this has culminated in his association with SHIPinSPACE which is now set to challenge new frontiers on a scale yet to be seen.
