Phil Smith

Phil Smith has over 18 years of experience in the space industry covering subjects like emerging space markets, space industry trends, space technologies, space policy, and the history of spaceflight. He currently works as a senior analyst for The Tauri Group, a technology consulting firm based in the DC area. He previously worked for The Secure World Foundation, Futron Corporation, and SAIC after serving eight years in the Air Force and Air Force Reserve as a nuclear missile specialist and a bioenvironmental engineering technician, respectively. He also volunteers as a tour guide at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center and is a freelance artist. Smith earned a degree in political science from the University of Nebraska Omaha and a masters degree in space studies from the University of North Dakota.
