Meidad Pariente, 40, is one of Israel's leading space entrepreneurs. As a student, he worked as an AMOS-1 Satellite operator, and after graduation he joined AMOS-2 systems engineering group, where he was responsible for integrated functional tests of end-to-end space segments and ground performance. Meidad led the first phase of VENμS project, a joint Israeli-French satellite project, and was its chief systems engineer, responsible for overall mission design and budget. Later, at the young age of 35, he became the chief systems engineer of AMOS-3, Israel's most sophisticated communications satellite and the first Israeli satellite launched directly to GEO. Meidad was one of the founders of INSA - The Israeli Nano Satellite Association, a group 'space freaks' educating the youth of Israel by using nanosatellites design and missions. After 15 years of work for Israel Aerospace Industry, Meidad established SPACECIALIST, a young and innovative R&D company specializing in space related projects and research. SPACECIALIST has business partners in the US, Italy, France, The Netherlands, India and Israel. Meidad is married to Maya which is also a space engineer, making them the first space engineers couple in Israel. She is also the his partnet at Spacecialist. During his work as a consultant for space insurance companies, Meidad initiated a unique research regrading the impact of a collision in Geo-stationary belt.
