Mark Fisher has been in the aerospace industry for 24 years. He has extensive experience providing program/project management, systems management, propulsion and launch systems, and mechanical engineering. Mark serves as Vice President and General Manager for Schafer’s Civil and Commercial Space Division. In addition, he serves as Director of Schafer’s Huntsville Operations. In these roles he is responsible for the development of new business within NASA, NOAA and the FAA as well as engineering support to commercial companies. He is responsible for the program management of these activities. Prior to joining Schafer, Mark served as a Subject Matter Expert to Kord Technologies in the integration and test of launch vehicles. Before that he was the Vice President of Orion Propulsion Inc. where he oversaw all programs. When Orion Propulsion Inc. was acquired by Dynetics Inc. he became Manager of the Propulsion Department and was subsequently promoted to Chief Engineer where he supported the CEO of the Stratolaunch System. Before that he was Program Director for Miltec Corporation. Preceding his time in the private sector, Mark provided 15 years of civil service at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). He began his tenure at NASA as a Propulsion Engineer and quickly became the Integrated Product Team Lead. After that he served as a Manager for many projects and directorates to include the Systems Management Office, MSFC Office of Exploration Systems, Orbital Space Plane Program Integration Office, and the SLI Main Engine Projects Office.
