Francis Rose is an award-winning broadcaster, journalist, speaker, writer, and host of FrancisRose.com. He has covered all three branches of the federal government as a broadcast journalist since 1998. He was host of “In Depth with Francis Rose” on Federal News Radio from 2008 to 2015 after joining the station in 2006. His guest list has included virtually every important name in the federal government.
Francis’s first book, “The OPM Cyber Breach: An In Depth Look at the Worst Cyber Attack in Government History” is available on Amazon. His next book, “Greatness Again: Revitalizing America’s Strategic Leadership on the World Stage” is scheduled for publication in February 2016. It includes interviews with leading voices on national security, defense, foreign policy, and diplomatic issues such as Ryan Crocker, Sen. Carl Levin (ret.), Rep. Buck McKeon (ret.), ADM James Stavridis (USN ret.) and Gen. David Petraeus (USA ret.).
News and talk radio trade magazine Talkers selected “In Depth with Francis Rose” for its list of the 250 most important talk shows in America in 2012. Francis appears on radio stations across America, providing information and analysis on the operations of the federal government. He is a regular contributor to NewsChannel 8/DC’s “Capital Insider” program. Francis is highly sought-after as a speaker and moderator of high-profile events in the federal community.
Francis is a regular guest host for two nationally syndicated radio programs, and has guest hosted others. His 30-year broadcast career includes stops at America’s leading broadcasters, including ABC Radio, CBS Radio, and Westwood One.
Before joining Federal News Radio, he covered the executive and legislative branches of government as a host and anchor on C-SPAN Radio. While at the network, he hosted the weekly “Supreme Court Oral Argument” and produced and hosted countless long-form historical programs, including an acclaimed retrospective on the 50th anniversary of the Army-McCarthy hearings.
Francis studied English at York College of Pennsylvania and Towson University.
