Dr. Kate Follette

I’m Kate (Brutlag) Follette, an Assistant Professor of Astronomy at Amherst College. Previously, I was a NASA Sagan Fellow at the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology at Stanford University. I received my PhD in Astronomy from Steward Observatory in December 2014.

I have the honor and privilege of getting to study and teach about the universe for a living. More specifically, I de-twinkle stars in order to hunt for extrasolar planets, teach courses in physics and astronomy, and crusade for an emphasis on quantitative literacy across the undergraduate curriculum.
