In our first segment, Ms. Murphy talked about the Rocket Racing League, what it is, what it has done so far and it what it will be doing in the future. She explained the air frame and the rocket engine and told us about the manufacturers of each. She also said that the air frame structure determines the performance of the vehicle, not the rocket motor.

We started our discussion with guest Gary Hudson regarding the COTS program, the Augustine Panel, and Unfunded Space Act Agreements. Gary described why he believes that COTS should be a more competitive and open process. You definitely want to hear what he has to say. This discussion led to an exchange with listeners as well as the host regarding the way in which bad engineering projects continue to grow, get funding, and be implemented.

Charles and Iain talked about the speakers and comments, mostly from what caught their attention and interest, but also from an overall perspective of the conference this year.

Our discussion started out by asking Dr. Illig to extrapolate from her body of work on aviation passenger health to the health factors concerning the spaceflight participant.

As President of his company, Planehook Aviation Services in San Antonio, Texas, David specializes in security work for general aviation, but he has quietly expanded this interest to space tourism. During the first segment of the program, David referenced the FAA/AST regulations dealing with security issues and told us what they mean and how they are likely to be interpreted and applied.
