John Batchelor and I welcomed Bill Pratt, the Lockheed-Martin NextSTEP Program Manager, to discuss the development of the simulated lunar habit for orbiting the Moon and cislunar space being built at KSC in a refurbished shuttle-era cargo container.  The Donatello Multi-Purpose Module is being readied at KSC for crews as well as robotic use for this 18 month test period for simulating life and work when on the real module designed to orbit the Moon.  We also talked about the Deep Space Avionics Integration Lab being developed at JSC for more robotic control and technology development.  Some of the issues we talked about included crew development, crew occupation periods, what will likely be simulated over the 18 month NASA contract, and more.  This was about a ten minute Hotel Mars segment.
