John Batchelor and I welcomed back Anatoly Zak to talk about the anniversary of many Soviet Union space firsts including Laika and space docking. We talked about the classified nature of the Soviet space program, what the Russian people knew at the time and did not know plus much more. Anatoly updated us on the replacement Soyuz spacecraft and we talked about the Deep Space Gateway project. Other topics of an historical nature were discussed. Anatoly also told us about the first Earth Science mission, the classified VKZ which has now been declassified by the Russians.
