During our first segment, Dr. Bell started a discussion about how the internet and blogs have impacted the space cadet community, both for the good and the bad. Don't miss this interesting discussion. Dr. Bell then began addressing the Augustine Commission findings and talked about budget issues given he pointed out NASA budget problems as early as 2007 in a Spacedaily.com article.

Guests: Mark Hopkins and Tim Bailey. Topics: ISDC 2009, NSS, space solar power, continuing education credits. Mark and Tim were our guests today to discuss the upcoming ISDC 2009 in Champions Gate near Orlando, Florida. ISDC 2009 is scheduled for May 28-31, 2009. We discussed much of the programming for the conference, even some unique programming with an Estes rocket competition, continuing education credit, tours of the Kennedy Space Center and much more. Mark also told about the keynote and main speakers which are a representation of Who's Who in space.

Guest: Greg Zsidisin was the guest for this Space Show program. We began our discussion with Greg about the type of space policy to expect from the new Obama administration. We focused in on the space policy transition team as Greg was asked to give us insights into their thinking and space interests. He concluded that space policy would likely unfold more or less traditionally rather than anything out of the box.

(Coyote) Smith, USAF, regarding the business case potential and the need for developing space solar power. This is a hard-hitting discussion in the hotel coffee shop about what is needed for space solar power to be developed. During this interview, not only do we discuss business case facts, but energy policy, the capability of the private sector to develop a demo project, other nations and their work toward SSP as well as their capability to do the project.

Barbara Marx Hubbard was the guest on The Space Show for this special program. We discussed space development and becoming space-faring in the context of conscious evolution as an emerging state of development for the betterment of humanity. We had a most interesting discussion about the role of space advocate organizations, how they do effective lobbying with Congress, the best way to approach those in Washington to influence space policy and what not to do when trying to influence an elected official. We also discussed the National Space Society and its goals, its worldwide offices, its relationship with other space advocacy organizations, and the personal vision for space development of Mr. Chase.  Pat Dash, Executive Director of the National Space Society, spoke about 9-11, the role of space and NSS in playing an important uniting role with a healing and uniting message. She said she could still see smoke coming from the Pentagon through her window.  This was an exceptional and moving Space Show interview (Business Without Boundaries).  It was most applicable at the time and is today regardless of when today might be for the listener to this program.
