Guest: Scott Cassell was the guest for this Space Show program exploring the relationship and synergy of our oceans with space. Our discussion with Scott started off by focusing on the Humboldt Squid, which is as much a foreign life form to humans as anything that may be encountered on or off this planet. You must hear Scott describe this mollusk in detail, including its behavior, characteristics, appearance, and its unusual proliferation across oceans into areas where it previously never used to be found.

Guests: Richard Garriott and Starr Long were the guests for this very special Space Show program. Mr. Garriott was with us from Star City, Russia where he is currently training for his Soyuz launch to the ISS on Oct. 12, 2008. Starr Long joined us from Seattle, Washington. During this program, Mr. Garriott explained why he wanted to go to space and the ISS, his experiments that he will be performing, and his interactive participant program for those of us here, Operation Immortality (please visit www.operationimmortality for more information).

Guests: Randa and Rod Milliron of Interorbital Systems, Inc. returned to The Space Show today in order to update us on new developments with their company. Having just returned from the SmallSat Conference and seeing the Millirons there, we decided to start our discussion with their presentation subject from SmallSat regarding Cubesats. Then, we focused on ocean launch which Interorbital is using. Their Sea Star rocket is being designed for CubeSat launches with engine testing and test flights at the end of this year and commercial operations due later in 2009.

The Marshall Spaceflight Center took Charles Schollenberge and I on a tour of some of their facilities and I recorded each part of the tour. Sometimes the audio is challenging because of background equipment noise and the soft voice or proximity of the speaker. However, you should have no real problems hearing what was being explained to us. While Charles and I experienced this in person, I hope you can see using your mind's eye what we saw, or at least have a good visual idea of what was being shown to us. We started out in the X-Ray Calibration Lab which supports Chandra.
