Dr. Bob Krone, Dr. Ken Cox and Langdon Morris were the special guests for this program to discuss their newly published book, "Beyond Earth: The Future of Humans In Space." Each guest provided listeners with information on not only their chapters in the book but the chapters of authors as well, plus we talked about the importance of space, making sure people know about space, its meaning and purpose, space commerce and much much more. Dr. Bob Krone
Bob Krone is a global educator, author, and consultant in Advanced Management theory and practice. He is an Emeritus Professor of the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, U.S.A. (1975-1993); a Distinguished Visiting Professor in the School of Business at La Sierra University in Riverside, California, U.S.A.(1992-present); and an Adjunct Professor for Doctoral Programs in the International Graduate School of Business at the University of South Australia (1995-present). He authored or co-authored six books and 70 professional journal articles. Bob graduated from the Naval War College Command and Staff College in 1962. He is a Fellow Member of the American Society for Quality(www.ASQ711.org) with an academic specialty in the Quality Sciences; a Leadership Council Member of the Aerospace Technology working Group (www.ATWG.org); Secretary of the National Board of the Distinguised Flying Cross Society (www.dfcsociety.org); Member Board of Directors of the Veterans Museum and Memorial Center, San Diego, California (www.veteranmuseum.org) Board Member of the Fallbrook, California VFW Post 1924 ; and Emeritus Member Board of Directors of Idyllwild Arts (www.idyllwildarts.org). Bob's first career was as a Fighter Pilot, Commander, Personnel Director and NATO International Staff Officer in the United States Air Force (1952-1975). He flew the T-33, F-84G, F-84F, F-100D/F, T-39, F-86, F-105D/F in America, Europe and Asia. As Operations Officer and Commander of the 469th Tactical Fighter Squadron (F-105D) he became the first USAF commander in the Vietnam War to reach 100 combat missions over North Vietnam (3 June 1966). He flew a total of 125 combat missions in SEA and earned the Silver Star, four Distinguished Flying Crosses, Bronze Star and eleven Air Medals. He was the action officer for the creation of USAF Museum web site pages on the history of the F-105D flying combat over North Vietnam, 1965 – 1968: (http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/history/vietnam/469th). Bob was Chief of the Nuclear Policy Section for SHAPE, NATO Belgium (1971-1974) and created the first unclassified briefing for “NATO Nuclear Policymaking,” which was the subject of his Ph.D. Dissertation at UCLA (1972). Bob has stayed in touch with Aerospace by being a member of the NASA sponsored Aerospace Technology Working Group (ATWG), the Space Development Committee and Kepler Academy where his most recent activity was editing BEYOND EARTH: THE FUTURE OF HUMANS IN SPACE (Apogee Space Press, 2006), Amazon.com, www.BeyondEarth.org). That book was on the Universe Today list of “Best Space Books in 2006” and is impacting the Space Community in 2008. Bob and his wife, Sue, have lived and worked in thirteen countries and have spent years teaching and living in diverse cultures. Langdon Morris
Langdon Morris is a consultant and author. He is a partner of InnovationLabs LLC (www.innovationlabs.com) a consulting firm that develops and applies advanced methods in the fields of innovation, strategy, and organization. He is an accomplished facilitator, and has worked in this field for more than 20 years with large companies and small start-ups throughout the world. He is Senior Practice Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania Ackoff Center where he is leading a research project on "Breakthrough Business Models," and Senior Fellow of the Economic Opportunities Program of the Aspen Institute. He has taught Business Strategy at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris, with courses in "Corporate Transformation" and "Complex Systems Management," and the Universidad de Belgrano, Buenos Aires, where he taught "Creating the Future." He is a member of ATWG and the Scientific Committee of Business Digest, Paris and a frequent contributor. He is a former Contributing Editor of Knowledge Management magazine, to which he also contributed the cover story of the February 1999 issue. He is author or co-author of numerous white papers and four acclaimed books, including Managing the Evolving Corporation; The Knowledge Channel; Fourth Generation R&D: Managing Knowledge, Technology, and Innovation (with William L. Miller); and The War for America. [Note: Fourth Generation R&D includes a detailed interview with Ken Cox in which he tells the fascinating story of his involvement in the successful return of the damaged Apollo 13 spacecraft following the explosion en route to the moon. Langdon has appeared on dozens of radio and TV outlets nationwide, and speaks frequently at corporate and industry meetings around the world.
