Richard Sanford
Richard Sanford is the Director, Space Initiatives Global Defense, Space & Security Group Cisco Systems, Inc. Mr. Sanford works with leaders from the public and private sector space communities to develop advanced technology solutions to meet the needs of next-generation space communications and is a recognized thought leader in the space community. Mr. Sanford previously served as an Intelligence Alliance Manager, Intelligence Business Development Manager, Regional Director of Intelligence Community Sales and Account Manager with Cisco. Before joining Cisco in 1997, Mr. Sanford served a variety of roles with the U.S. Federal government, including Deputy Director for the Counter Narcotics Command Management System with the U.S. Department of State and Electronic Cryptographic Systems and Equipment Specialist with the U.S. Department of Defense 7th Communications Group. He also has worked as an Account Executive of Timeplex Federal Systems in the Intelligence Community and Program Manager/Sustaining Engineer for BBN Communications. Mr. Sanford is a board member for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Space Executive Council, Business Executives for National Security, Security Affairs Support Association, Armed Forces Communications Electronic Association and the Fairfax, Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
