During our 11 minute plus discussion, David Lawrence, a member of the Mercury Messenger team and an in expert gamma-ray and neutron spectroscopy, talked about recent NASA announcements about Messenger confirming water ice on Mercury and organics. He also talked about Mercury organics and that that really means as it is different in the context of Mercury. During our segment, Mr. Lawrence talked about Mercury, why it is so interesting to study and why the new information about Mercury is so important to us. John Batchelor
John is a veteran novelist, author of seven political romances as well as a short history of the Republican Party. Born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, in 1948, John attended Lower Merion High School and Princeton University. In 1976 he was graduated from Union Theological Seminary. John is married to the Reverend Doctor Bonnie Ann Rosborough, pastor of a church north of New York City. John, Bonnie, and their children Sam and Anna divide their time between New York and Maine. The John Batchelor Show is an essential tool for understanding the new order in the 21st Century. The world is now facing a dangerous and fanatical enemy determined to destroy Western civilization on both political and military fronts. In this, the first great ideological battle of the new millennium, it is imperative to know the major players and the theaters in which they operate. The John Batchelor Show features a multitude of distinctive elements. David Lawrence
At The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory Dr. David Lawrence is an expert in gamma-ray and neutron spectroscopy and determining planetary compositions by remote sensing. Utilizing data from the Gamma-Ray and Neutron Spectrometer (GRNS), he will investigate Mercury's composition and geology. He is the deputy chair of the Geochemistry Discipline Group. Selected as a Participating Scientist in 2007. Dr. Lawrence did his undergraduate studies at TCU and his PhD in physics at Washington University in St. Louis.
