Dr. Henry Hertzfeld is the featured guest for this program on The Space Show. Professor Hertzfeld is a Senior Research Scientist at the Space Policy Institute, George Washington University well as an expert in the economic, legal, and policy issues of space and advanced technological development. During this program, we discuss the economics of space development, how to measure economic benefits of both public and private money spent on space development, the value of government space programs, the most likely space programs to provide a return to either the government or a private company, the true value of Apollo, new space transportation systems, and lots more.

Dr. Henry Hertzfeld, Space Policy Institute, George Washington University
Dr. Henry R. Hertzfeld, Research Professor of International Affairs, Elliott School of International Affairs, Space Policy Institute and the Center for International Science and Technology Policy, George Washington University, is an expert in the economic, legal, and policy issues of space and advanced technological development. He has served as a Senior Economist and Policy Analyst at both NASA and the National Science Foundation, and has been a consultant to many agencies and organizations. He is the co-editor of Space Economics (AIAA 1992), as well as many articles on space economic and legal issues. Dr. Hertzfeld holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, a M.A. from Washington University, a Ph.D. degree in economics from Temple University, He also has J.D. degree from the George Washington University and is a member of the Bar in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. Discussion topics will include the economics of launch vehicles, measuring socioeconomic benefits of better forecasts from weather and earth observation satellites, current issues in space law, including the property rights in space and on the Moon controversy and new regulations on human space, mainly suborbital.
